Tatiana Makarkina
Tatiana sees art as a creative process rather than a final result. This process of creating a new work demands full dedication from the artist. All experiences, deepest emotions and thoughts gathered in life flow into it. The artist wants to show the viewer what is difficult to put into words and what she cannot fully explain herself. Tatiana`s works of art are stories that have not been told to the end, that live on and develop in the mind of the beholder. The viewer and the artist write and experience these stories together. This creates a connection between the artist and the outside world. Tatiana strives for the quintessence of metaphysics, philosophy and psychology and tries to unite them in her works of art. The medium does not matter. The artist works periodically in acrylic, oil, watercolor and pastel.
The stories that have not been told to the end manifest themselves in fragmentary figures in Tatiana`s paintings. They seem unfinished, as if the artist is still working on them. The figures shown resemble ancient statues that have been broken by the burden of time and the blows of fate. It is a game of imperfection that appears beautiful despite its alleged flaws.
